April 24, 2008 – Las Vegas, Nevada, USA – Over the past few weeks, Inspiri Wellness reconfirmed its long-standing commitment to the Clark County Department of Parks and Community Services by upgrading the fitness centers located within the Hollywood and Desert Breeze Recreation Centers. The culminating event of this ever-strengthening partnership will arrive on May 31, however, with the grand opening of the new state-of-the-art Doc Pearson Community Center. This 40,000-square-foot center, designed by the architectural firm of Dekker/Perich/Sabatini, is a joint venture between Clark County Nevada and the Urban League. Inspiri Wellness designed, supplied, installed, and will collaborate in the operation of the Cybex-equipped fitness center, which boasts a complete selection of commercial grade cardiovascular and VR3 strength training equipment.

The Doc Pearson Community Center and Park have been developed to help revitalize an older neighborhood. In addition to the Inspiri-created fitness center, elements of the community center include an NCAA regulation gymnasium, teen and game rooms, computer lab and classrooms, multipurpose rooms with kitchen area, senior space and learning center, and administrative and support areas. The interior spaces are arranged around a large open central mall, increasing the visibility of each space and fostering community and multigenerational interaction. The exterior space includes an amphitheater for outdoor performances and events. The surrounding park includes a running track, play fields, playgrounds, and picnic areas. A donated steel sculpture located at the entry of the park is the focal point of the entire complex.
